You won’t lose any limbs at the Emporia Police Department Benefit Association’s sixth annual Zombie Run 5k at Jones Park.
Event spokesperson Brittany Jones says the route will be lined with 10 to 20 zombies, however, they’ve been told to behave.
The event will be held this Saturday with registration starting at 4:30 pm and the run to follow at 5:30 pm. Registration cost is $25 per adult and $15 per child. Go to the Benefit Association’s Facebook page or stop by the Police Department Records Desk to pick up a registration form.
Following the Zombie Run will be a free showing of Hocus Pocus in Jones Park starting at 7 pm.
Proceeds from the event are used for projects such as contributing to the SOS Thanksgiving dinner, buying luggage for children in foster care, and sponsoring a family every year at Christmastime.
