Westar Energy is investigating after two separate power outages affected much of central Emporia on Friday morning.
Westar says about 1,700 customers lost power shortly after 9:30 am. That outage was restored quickly, but the same customers then lost power again around 10:45 am.
The reason behind the outages and their origination points have not been determined. All affected customers should have their power on at this time.
