Strong thunderstorms remain possible for Lyon and surrounding counties Friday evening.
TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says the window officially is from 6 pm to midnight, and it now appears large hail and damaging winds are the main risks.
Storms could also dump as much as two inches of rain.
6 am Friday: Low-end severe weather risk prompts schedule adjustments for area sports Friday
The prospect of thunderstorm activity, including some strong storms, has caused several schedule adjustments for Friday evening.
TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says a cold front will give us a marginal to slight risk of severe weather, mainly in the form of large hail, from around 6 pm to midnight.
With the risk of hail, heavy rain and lightning, most area football games have adjusted their start times Friday night:
*Emporia High at Topeka Seaman will kick at 5:30 pm on 14 KVOE, 96.9 FM and KVOE.com. Pregame will start at 5:05 pm, so the 5 pm hour of news and information will start at 4 pm.
*The Area Game of the Week, Olpe hosting Jackson Heights, will also take place at 5:30 pm on Country 101.7 Fm and KVOE.com. Pregame will start at 5:10 pm.

5:30 pm: Centre at Hartford
5:30 pm: Lebo at Valley Falls
5:30 pm: Marais des Cygnes Valley at Waverly
5:30 pm: Mission Valley at Council Grove
5:30 pm: Yates Center at Northern Heights
6 pm: Chase County at Burlingame
6 pm: Lyndon at Uniontown
6 pm: West Franklin at Osage City
Other sports:
*Emporia State Cross Country Invitational start times are now 4 pm for the women’s meet and 4:30 pm for the men’s meet.
There is also a slight severe weather risk for Saturday. Meyers says all hazards are possible from mid-afternoon to early evening if storms develop.
