The Minnesota Twins out scored the Kansas City Royals 12-8 Sunday.
The Twins scored 6 of those runs in the 1st inning. The Royals tried to rally in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs but left the bases loaded. Catcher Nick Dini hit a 2 run home run in the 2nd inning.
Whit Merrifield did pick up his 200th hit of the season.
Shortstop Adalberto Mondesi left the game with a shoulder injury, he is done for the season.
The loss was the 100th of the season for the Royals.
The Royals are off Monday.
They begin the final week of the season Tuesday with a 2 game series against the Atlanta Braves.
