The third annual Timmerman Elementary Disc Golf Fundraising Tournament persevered through rain and shine, and community members crowded Hammond Park to participate.
There were experienced disc golfers as well as first-timers who came to support local elementary student Hunter Samples, who is battling neurofibromatosis type one, and the Ace It Up Fund, for the late Ace Garate.
Chuck Samples, Hunter’s father, talks about his son’s hopeful progression as he battles this sickness.
Carlos Garate, Ace’s father, says events like these mean the world to his family.
A preliminary total of funds raised is around $500 with more to come.
