Lyon County commissioners have a range of focal points for their weekly action meeting Thursday.
At the end of the meeting, commissioners will take their latest tour of the Reading Wind Energy site. Construction started earlier this year on the roughly 25,000-acre wind farm involving a partnership between Southern Power, RES Americas and Royal Caribbean.
The tour will follow a road viewing in on Road N from Road 390 north to the Lyon-Wabaunsee county line.
In addition, commissioners will consider a maintenance software replacement as presented by Facilities Director Mark McKenna and will receive the “substantial compliance results” from County Appraiser Ryan Janzen. Commissioners will also consider approving the purchase of various sizes of casing from County Engineer Chip Woods and will consider an entrance application on behalf of Travis Heins in the 1500 block of Road 175.
The meeting starts at 8 am Thursday in the County Courthouse. Commissioners plan to recess the meeting at the Courthouse at 10 am following public comment so they can have the formal road viewing and the wind farm tour.
