Kansas State is in the USAToday Coaches college football poll top 25 after their win over Mississippi State and 3-0 start. The Wildcats are ranked 25th. They are receiving votes in the AP poll, they would be ranked 26th.
Clemson is the top ranked team in both polls followed by Alabama and Georgia.
Oklahoma is 4th in the coaches poll and 5th in the AP poll. LSU is 4th in the AP poll and 5th in the Coaches poll.
Texas is ranked 12th in the AP poll and 13th in the Coaches poll.
TCU is ranked 25th in the AP poll.
Oklahoma State and Iowa State are receiving votes in both polls.
Kansas States Denzel Goolsby has been named the Big-12 defensive player of the Week and Malik Knowls has been named the Big-12 Special teams player of the week.
Goolsby led a K-State defense that held Mississippi State to 4-of-14 on third down, as the Wildcats collected a victory in Starkville. The senior finished with 11 tackles and had an interception that led to first-half points.
K-State freshman Knowles returned a fourth quarter kick for a 100-yard touchdown at Mississippi State, tying the game at 24. He became the fifth player in school history to record a 100-yard kick return.
