Hammond Park served as the site of the second annual Newman Regional Health disc golf tournament to benefit the United Way of the Flint Hills on Saturday.
Dynamic Discs partnered with Newman Regional Health on the tourney. Doug Bjerkaas of Dynamic Discs says the business is glad to help the United Way.
2018 drive chair and hospital staffer Vicky Brooks says every dollar raised has a big impact in the United Way’s eight-county coverage area.
Nearly 25 disc golfers participated, up from 2018 and including several trying the sport for the first time.
The United Way is now approaching the one-month mark with its annual fundraising campaign. Goal is $560,000.
Fundraising totals are pending.
