The bulk of events won’t take place until November, but All Veterans Tribute activities got started this weekend with the 15th annual fundraising golf tournament at the Emporia Golf Course on Saturday.
Proceeds from the tribute will go towards a multitude of organizations that benefit veterans. The tournament is specifically funding the American Legion, Veterans of Emporia, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Some participants at the event came from all over Kansas. Participant Brandon Childs says that he came all the way down from Wichita.
The perfect weather also made the event a perfect golfing experience. Veteran Steve Neil stated that he was excited to start golfing.
Fundraising totals from the event will be announced later.
