The Kansas City Royals out scored the Baltimore Orioles 6-4 Sunday.
The Royals scored 3 runs in the 1st inning on a Hunter Dozier double and Ryan OHearn single.
Baltimore rallied to take a 4-3 lead. In the 7th inning Alex Gordon drove in the tying run with a double. Meibrys Viloria singled to drive in Gordon to give the lead back to the Royals. Whit Merrifield hit a solo home run in the 8th inning. Adalberto Mondesi fresh off the injured list was 4 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 3 stolen bases.
Danny Duffy was the starter he goes 6 and 3rd innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits. Kevin McCarthy earned the win and Ian Kennedy picked up his 25th save.
The Royals are off Monday, they begin a series with the Detroit Tigers Tuesday.
There was a no hitter thrown Major League baseball Sunday. Houston Astros Justin Verlander no hit the Toronto Blue Jays. It was his 3rd career no hitter.
