A Burlington man was hurt in a motorcycle crash on the Kansas Turnpike southwest of Emporia on Sunday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 68-year-old Samuel Somerhalder was northbound when he crashed at mile marker 92, near the Cassoday exit, shortly before 1 pm. Somerhalder tried to make a turn but didn’t shift into the right gear. His motorcycle then hit a guardrail.
Somerhalder was taken to Susan B Allen Hospital in El Dorado for treatment. The hospital does not release patient conditions to the media.
