The race to replace US Senator Pat Roberts has gotten more crowded — this time on the Democrat side.
Manhattan City Commissioner and Mayor Pro-Tem Usha Reddi is a math teacher in the Manhattan-Ogden school district. She has also been heavily involved in Manhattan public policy both before and after joining the City Commission in 2013.
Reddi becomes the third Democrat to formally announce a campaign, following former US Attorney for Kansas Barry Grissom and former Congresswoman Nancy Boyda. Several Republicans are also running, including former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, current Senate President Susan Wagle and current Kansas Treasurer Jake LaTurner.
