A hearing has been delayed for one of two business burglary suspects after alleged activity in Emporia earlier this spring.
Lesli Fontenot’s pretrial hearing has been reset for 2 pm Sept. 10 after it was originally scheduled for Friday. This is the pretrial immediately after a preliminary hearing, and that’s notable because potential trial dates are typically set at that time.
Fontenot is accused of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, felony theft and felony criminal damage after reported burglaries at TP Jewelry and Pawn on May 9 and Kari’s Diamonds and Bridal on May 16. She’s also charged with conspiracy to commit theft, attempted theft and criminal damage after what authorities say was a robbery attempt at Giefer’s Car Wash, 101 South Commercial, on May 16.
Fontenot’s co-defendant, Nicholas Hall, may go to trial Oct. 28 or Dec. 12, depending on upcoming court hearings. Hall is charged in connection with the previously-mentioned incidents as well as attempted burglary May 10 at Mr. G’s Car Wash, 716 East 12th.
