Young fans of Emporia State Hornet sports are encouraged to attend the first-ever Hornet Fest on Wednesday evening.
Assistant Athletics Director and head of media relations Don Weast says there will be a lot of activities during the event, which will go from 6-7:30 pm at Welch Stadium.
Information about signing kids up for Corky’s Crew will also be available.
Hornet Fest is based off the NCAA’s “Love to Play” initiative, which is based on the concept of introducing children to several sports without forcing them to specialize in any one sport.
Hornet Fest is aimed at kids ages 5-12 and is free.
