Damage estimates are pending after a driver went through a cable on the west side of Olpe High’s football field and continued onto the grass.
Head coach Chris Schmidt:
Lyon County deputies are investigating and Lyon County Crime Stoppers has offered a reward of up to $1,000 leading to the arrests and convictions of those involved.
Schmidt says he mowed the field Saturday afternoon and found the damage Sunday morning. Part of the cable was already down because of ongoing construction, but the driver found a spot where the cable was in its normal spot and also went over a parking block before going out onto the field. The vehicle allegedly involved also apparently had its back windshield knocked out.
