As is tradition, the 2019 Lyon County Fair came to a close with a bang…. or rather a smash, crash and bash.
The annual demolition derby capped off two weeks worth of activities for this year’s fair Saturday evening. Over 40 drivers took part in this year’s derby with which featured five separate categories including limited weld, bone stock, bone stock compacts, weld compacts and the kid’s power wheel.
Hundreds filed into the grandstands hours before the derby even begun to make sure they had the best seat to witness the destructive entertainment. Once the derby concluded those in attendance made their way across the street to take part in all of the rides and games available at the carnival which also came to an end Saturday.
