Future Hornets buzzed all around the Emporia State University for the underclassmen move-in day at the Towers Complex and Schallenkamp Hall.
Incoming freshmen and their parents rushed around the building to get situated in their new living arrangements. Demolition on northeast Morse is just beginning, but that’s not halting any progress on move-in. This is commonly a very emotional time for families, but students are typically excited about the change. This is the case for Katie Townsend who talks about the move-in experience and her future plans.
Katie’s mother, Joanna Thompson explains the impact it’s having on her and what she hopes her daughter gets out of leaving the nest.
The fall semester is just over the horizon, starting on Monday. Join KVOE and a huge variety of vendors at the Welcome Back Block Party on Commercial Street for students this Monday the 19th, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
