One person has been taken to Newman Regional Health following a semi rollover Tuesday morning.
According to Lyon County Sheriff Jeff Cope, a semi carrying a cooling unit from Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Canada was traveling northbound on Kansas Highway 99 and was approaching Road P when, for unknown reasons, the semi drifted off the road. The semi and its load then rolled off into the south ditch.
The driver was taken to Newman Regional Health by private vehicle. His name has not been released.
Traffic is down to one lane in the area and will totally close later in the day as the semi is cleared from the scene.
The Highway Patrol is leading the investigation. We will keep you updated on KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media.
