Lyon County deputies say a Colby man was arrested following a crash about six miles north of Emporia on Monday.
Sheriff Jeff Cope says Brandon Tittel, age 35, crashed near the intersection of Kansas Highway 99 and Road L around 2 pm. Cope says there were reports of a car driving recklessly southbound on K-99 before it left the highway and slid into a tree line.
When deputies arrived, the driver, later identified as Tittel, was trying to drive out of a ditch but was stuck in mud. He declined medical treatment and was arrested on suspicion of DUI, transporting an open container of alcohol and criminal carrying a weapon.
Formal charges are pending through the Lyon County Attorney’s Office.
