It’s a long way from the first preseason game to the Super Bowl in early February, but the Kansas City Chiefs definitely looked the part of champion contender in a 38-17 win over Cincinnati to begin the preseason schedule.
Patrick Mahomes basically had to make smart decisions and not get hurt, and he accomplished both. Mahomes was 4-for-4 for 66 yards in his only drive of the game.
Top draft pick Mecole Hardman also scored on a shovel pass sweep, while fellow rookie Darwin Thompson had a touchdown of his own in the third quarter.
The Chiefs play at Pittsburgh this Saturday. Game time is 6:30 pm on Country 101.7 FM.
