Local authorities are working three separate crashes that were reported within less than 15 minutes of each other.
Shortly before 7 pm, crashes were reported at East South and Weaver and at Road 170 and N. Emporia Police and Lyon County deputies are determining whether the wrecks are related. The Emporia Fire Department tells KVOE News there were no medical transports from either accident.
Around 7:10 pm, an injury crash was reported at Fifth and State. According to Emporia Police Officer Sinjin Andrews the accident involved two vehicles. A Dodge Journey was traveling westbound when, according to witnesses, it failed to stop at a stop sign. The Journey then collided with a northbound Dodge Avenger on State street.
The Avenger ended up in the front yard of a nearby residence. Occupants in both vehicles were examined on scene but did not require medical transport.
