Sauder Custom Fabrication has two big shipments going from Emporia to El Dorado soon.
A fractionator tower leaves town Monday. The vessel is 14 feet wide, 14 feet high and 138 feet long. It weighs around 270,000 pounds, or nearly 140 tons. The overall load length is 234 feet.
An acid settler is set to leave town Aug. 20. The vessel is nearly 18 feet wide, almost 18 feet tall and over 72 feet long. It weighs around 208,000 pounds and the overall load length is 181 feet. This replaces a vessel built at Sauder in the early 1970s.
Both vessels will go north from the Sauder plant to US Highway 50. They will then go west to Commercial Street and then travel south to US Highway 54 near Eureka before heading west to El Dorado.
Both pieces of equipment will be installed at the Holly Frontier refinery starting next month.
