The Emporia City Commission will consider formal approval of the 2020 budget during their action session Wednesday afternoon.
Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the budget after which time formal approval may be given. Also on the agenda commissioners plan to approve the 5-year budget for fiscal year 2020-2024.
The commission will also consider awarding a bid for the 2019 W. South Avenue waterline project, an agreement of services with H.W. Lochner Engineering, bids for a new rear load solid waste packer body and chassis and an ordinance request for rezoning for 801 and 807 Constitution Street. Appointment of members and delegates to the Emporia Human Relations Commission and the League of Kansas Municipalities will also take place.
Two executive sessions are planned. The meeting gets underway at 1:30 pm inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
