Lyon County residents are encouraged to learn more about the county’s flood maps, flood insurance and flood risk at a special open house this week.
Lyon County and the Kansas Department of Agriculture will have the open house from 2-7 pm Thursday at the White Auditorium Little Theater. Local and state government personnel will have information about the draft Flood Insurance Rate Map. They will also have laptop computers available so they can talk one-on-one with residents about flood-related concerns they have about their property or how local flood hazards have changed over time.
