Several railroad crossings in Emporia are either closed or will be closed over the next few days.
Crossings are currently closed at Merchant, Market and Union streets, with other work either coming soon or done on Carter, Cottonwood, East, Exchange and Weaver streets.
Maintenance crews with Burlington Northern Santa Fe started the process west of Emporia last month and are working east across town. Official detour routes will be marked accordingly near the work zones.
