Five juveniles in Greenwood County had a scary float ride Saturday.
The Sheriff’s Office says the quintet had gone on a float trip on Otter Creek near Eureka at 11 am and didn’t make it to the take-out point as expected. Several agencies responded, including Greenwood County deputies, Greenwood County Emergency Management and Eureka Fire and Rescue. The units searched the area with drones before finding the juveniles in an impassible section of the creek.
The five children were directed to follow the drone to a residential yard where they were picked up.
None of the five were hurt in the incident.
