The Cleveland Indians defeated the Kansas City Royals 8-3 Friday night.
Jose Ramirez 3 run home run in the 6th inning was all Cleveland needed to take control of the game.
The Highlight for the Royals was the defensive play of Center Fielder Bubba Starling, made a catch at the wall, made a diving catch and completed a double play by throwing out a runner at home. Royals Manager Ned Yost called it a good night.
Starling also had 2 hits and scored a run.
The Royals scratched out 3 runs on 9 hits and stranded 8 base runners.
The Royals and Indians play again Saturday night. Glenn Sparkman will be on the mound for the Royals. First pitch is set for 6:15p. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 5:30p.
The Royals designated left-handed pitcher Brian Flynn for assignment. They also recalled left-handed pitcher Richard Lovelady from Triple-A Omaha, sent Jake Newberry back to Triple-A Omaha.
