Day one of The Basketball Tournament being played in Wichita is in the books.
Self Made, a team of former KU basketball players, was out scored by Sideline Cancer 87-63. Self Made was led by Mario Little with 21 points. Perry Ellis played less then a minute before leaving with a knee injury.
The Aftershocks, a team made up of former Wichita State players, out scored Iowa United 85-76. Connor Frankamp led the way with 23 points. Cleanthony Early added 17. Aftershocks will play Sideline Cancer in the semi-finals Saturday. Friday night team Purple and Black, a team of former Kansas State players, will play Colorado at 8pm.
The other first round game has the Golden Eagles, a team of former Marquette players, playing the Fort Hood Wounded Warriors.
Perry Ellis has a torn tendon in his right knee. The Wichita Eagle reports he will have surgery next week. Ellis recently signed to play professionally in Japan.
