The people accused of burglarizing Kari’s Diamonds and Bridal over two months ago are now being charged in connection with three other burglary or attempted burglary incidents in town before the incident at Kari’s.
Nicholas Allen Hall and Lesli Cheyenne Fontenot were originally charged with a range of crimes in the Kari’s burglary May 16, with Hall accused of a single count of burglary, two counts each of theft and criminal damage and traffic violations and Fontenot accused of separate counts of possessing stolen property, drugs and drug paraphernalia. Now both are charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, felony theft and felony criminal damage after the front door was smashed and numerous jewelry items were stolen.
In addition, both have now been charged with burglary, felony theft and felony criminal damage in connection to the burglary at TP Jewelry and Pawn on May 9. The front window was broken in before jewelry and other items were taken.
Both also face charges stemming from an attempted burglary at Giefer’s Car Wash, 101 South Commercial. Both are charged with conspiracy to commit theft, attempted theft and criminal damage after surveillance equipment was damaged May 16 — about seven hours before the Kari’s burglary, according to court documents provided to KVOE News.
Hall has also been charged with attempted theft and criminal damage at Mr. G’s Car Wash at 716 East 12th after a security camera and other items were damaged May 10.
Preliminary hearings are currently planned at 3 pm Wednesday for both Fontenot and Hall in Lyon County District Court.
