The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team run ruled Newton 11-1 in 4 innings to win their first game in zone tournament play Saturday.
Post 5 scored 6 of those runs in the 3rd inning.
Beau Baumgardner and Hunter Groh were both 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. John Miller was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI.
Cade Kohlmeier was the winning pitcher giving up 1 run on 2 hits with 7 strikeouts.
The Post 5 seniors will play Pittsburg in the championship semi-final Sunday afternoon at 3pm. The winner will play in the Championship game Monday. The loser will play Monday at 10am.
The winner of the Zone 2 tournament advances to State.
