The heavy work is done on part of West 12th after road resurfacing work this week.
New asphalt pavement has been installed from Prairie to Lincoln, wrapping up a process that started Monday as crews milled down the existing pavement.
The work was needed after the city installed a new water main last summer and had numerous water line breaks near the original construction zone. The water also forced the city to replace much of the north sidewalk from Prairie to Lincoln. That part of the project was handled before paving started.
