It’s not “Sweating to the Oldies,” but you will be sweating the next few days — and this is already getting old.
Air temperatures will top out in the upper 90s Thursday, with heat index readings as high as 109 across the KVOE listening area. Some people in east central and northeast Kansas could see heat indices as high as 115.
This follows a 97-degree day in Emporia on Wednesday and stifling heat index readings across the area, including 105 in Burlington, 108 in both Emporia and Council Grove and 111 in Melvern.
An excessive heat warning continues through early Saturday evening. Stay with KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media for updates.
