Flint Hills Technical College’s Inspiring Wranglers fundraising campaign is now at the halfway point, thanks to a recent donation.
The Lewis H Humphreys Charitable Trust, Bank of America, NA, has donated $50,000, bringing the total amount either donated or pledged to $1.2 million. Goal is $2.4 million.
Officially known as Inspiring Wranglers: The Campaign for Tomorrow’s Chefs, the fundraiser will thoroughly renovate the Hospitality and Culinary Arts Department with expanded labs, dedicated classroom space and renovated student commons area. The renovations will also let the program be accredited by the American Culinary Federation and let hospitality and culinary arts students receive chef status when they receive their associates degrees from the college.
For more information or to donate, call the FHTC Foundation at 341-1380 or go online to www.fhtc.edu. Vice President for Advancement Mike Crouch will update the campaign during KVOE’s Newsmaker segment at 7:15 am Wednesday morning.
