The American Legion A Zone 5 and 6 tournament, played in Emporia, wrapped up Monday night with the Kansas Senators and Iola earning trips to State.
The Senators defeated Iola in the Championship game 10-0 to be the zone 5 state qualifier. Iola out scored Chanute 6-3 to be the zone 6 state qualifier.
The A legion State tournament will be played in Topeka next week.
The Emporia Senior Legion was scheduled to play at Newton Monday night. They did not play, Newton was not able to find umpires. Newton is also hosting a A legion zone tournament.
The Emporia Senior Legion will begin zone tournament play at Pittsburg on Saturday.
