Travelers on West 12th Avenue between Prairie and Lincoln streets can expect road construction to begin in earnest next week.
The surface milling and asphalt overlay process will begin Monday and could continue all next week, according to City Clerk Kerry Sull. Lane shifts will be in effect along the construction zone, but connecting streets will have short-term closures as the work continues. Minor traffic delays are expected.
The work is part of the city’s annual Street Rehabilitation Project. It follows planned work by the city last summer to install a new water line — as well as unplanned work after several nearby water lines failed during that project.
