The former director of the Emporia Senior Center will be sentenced Tuesday after reaching a plea agreement in a theft case from the organization.
In May, Lannie Lyman pleaded no contest to a single count of theft between $25,000 to $100,000. The agreement includes a tentative 17-month prison term with no probation.
Lyman was formally accused of theft after funds were noticed as missing in September 2017. Initial losses were listed from $80,000 to $120,000 from January 2016 to September 2017, when Lyman was fired. A subsequent audit posted losses at around $115,000 throughout Lyman’s tenure, which started in 2014.
Sentencing will be at 3 pm.
