Minor flooding continues along the Cottonwood River at Emporia and should begin soon further downstream.
The Cottonwood at Emporia’s latest reading was 23.16 feet and climbing, above flood stage of 20 feet. The river could crest at 23.2 feet Monday and go below flood stage Tuesday morning. The river is in a flood warning until late Tuesday night.
The Neosho at Neosho Rapids is approaching the 22-foot flood stage at 21.74. It should crest at 23.4 feet early Tuesday and go below flood stage Tuesday night. The river is in a flood warning until Wednesday morning.
Flood warnings have been discontinued for the Cottonwood at both Cottonwood Falls and Plymouth as the river went below flood stage Sunday.
