With Kansas agriculture suffering repeated blows this spring and summer due to flooding and other severe weather, an emergency grant package has been announced by Farm Aid, Kansas Farmers Union and National Farmers Union.
Families relying on farm income, live in declared disaster areas — including all counties in the KVOE listening area — and are experiencing hardship due to storm damage are encouraged to apply even if crop insurance, FEMA funds or other relief has been made available.
There is no deadline to apply, but there is a limited amount of funding available. Applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and approval is based on family farm status and demonstrated economic loss.
