Several road or bridge construction projects have recently been approved by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
In Lyon County, KDOT has approved a bridge repair on Kansas Highway 99 over 142-Mile Creek just north of US Highway 56. Bettis Asphalt and Construction out of Topeka won the contract with a $168,000 bid.
A bridge repair in Greenwood County — also on Highway 99 — is also moving forward. PCI Roads, LLC, of Saint Michael, Minnesota, submitted a $193,000 bid to fix a bridge over Willow Creek nearly nine miles south of Kansas Highway 58.
Pavement reconstruction is the underlying project in Osage County, where Kansas Highway 31 in Osage City will see work from the K-170 junction east half a mile to Fourth. Smoky Hill, LLC, of Salina, won the contract with a $1.3 million bid.
Additional project details, including the start of construction and potential work timetable, have not been announced.
