The USATF Junior Olympic Region 9 Championships began Thursday at Emporia States Welch Stadium and Witten track.
Two champions were crowned in the Pentathlon. Trinity Walter won the girls 11 and 12 year Pentathlon and Tylan Walter won the boys 11and 12 year old Pentathlon. Both are with the Eastside Steppers Track Club out of Oklahoma City.
Fridays competition begins with the steeplechase.
