The Cleveland Indians scored 6 runs in the 7th inning on the way to a 8-4 win over the Kansas City Royals Thursday afternoon.
The Royals scored 3 runs in the 3rd inning on singles by Whit Merrifield and Adalberto Mondesi and a bases loaded walk to Jorge Soler to take a 3-1 lead.
Cleveland scored the 6 runs off of relief pitchers Jorge Lopez and Wily Peralta. 4 of the runs were scored off of Lopez. Royals Manager Ned Yost says it’s not jus Lopez who is struggling.
Cam Gallager added a solo home run in the 9th for the Royals. The teams waited out a 2 and half hour rain delay before getting the game played.
Cleveland sweeps the 3 game series.
