Between 500 to 1200 track and field athletes will be desending on Emporia beginning Thursday for the USATF Junior Olympics region 9 track and field meet.
Competition in the Decathlon, Pentathlon and Heptathlon are scheduled to start this morning. The meet will be held at Welch Stadium, Zola Witten Track, on the Emporia State Campus and will wrap up on Sunday.
