Lyon County Commissioners are nearing completion on the 2020 budget.
During their weekly action session Wednesday morning commissioners were presented with the budget in its current format. Exact totals are not currently available as some adjustments still need to be made, however, County Controller Dan Williams tells KVOE News there is a 2 percent tax revenue increase. In addition, Williams says the budget could potentially lower the mill levy from 60.48 to 59.74.
Williams says the budget could also potentially see a total net effect of zero.
Williams will continue to make adjustments and plans to bring the budget before commissioners once again in two-weeks time. At that time the budget could potentially gain formal approval for publication. Certification for the state is likely before the August 25th deadline.
Three executive sessions also took place. The Lyon County Commission will reconvene next Thursday at 8 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse.
