The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team out scored Newton 7-3 for their 26th win of the season Tuesday night.
The two teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader but due to the early evening rain they decided to play a single 9 inning game.
The Post 5 Seniors scored 4 runs in the 4th inning to break a 3-3 tie.
Hunter Groh was 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI.
Riley Wagner was the winning pitcher going 7 and 2 thirds innings giving up the 3 runs on 11 hits with 8 strikeouts.
The Post 5 Seniors are now 26-1 for the season. Riley Wagner says its been a stress free summer.
The Post 5 seniors will get a little break, their next doubleheader will be next Tuesday when they host the Wichita Aviators.
