Two individuals escaped serious injury following a reported injury accident on Interstate 35 late Monday morning.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and Lyon County EMS responded to the report of an injury accident at I-35 mile marker 137 shortly before noon Monday. Lyon County Sheriff Jeff Cope tells KVOE News, the Kansas Department of Transportation was conducting maintenance on the roadway when a northbound Toyota Corolla rear-ended the back of a dump truck in the left lane.
Two passengers, a male and female, were inside the vehicle and received medical attention at the scene but did not require medical transport. Traffic has reopened in the left northbound lane after being blocked for roughly 90 minutes following the accident.

Two passengers, a male and female, were inside the vehicle and received medical attention on scene. There is currently no word on if either of the passengers were taken to the hospital for further observation.
