An online insurance review company puts Emporia in the state’s top 15 for best driving cities.
Quotewizard looked at what it called driver quality from the state’s 50 biggest cities, using last year’s data from over 65,000 insurance quotes to find the rate of overall incidents — like crashes, speeding tickets, DUIs and traffic citations. Using that methodology, Quotewizard slotted Emporia 12th across the state.
Great Bend was listed as the best driving city in Kansas. Parsons was second and Fort Scott third.
Quotewizard also listed the state’s worst driving cities. That list put Derby as worst, followed by Gardner and Pratt.
Overall, Kansas is 27th nationally, based on the Quotewizard research. Kansas is also ranked lower than all neighboring states instead of Nebraska, which is listed as 48th nationally.
