The Kansas City Royals managed to force extra innings with an eighth-inning rally, but couldn’t pick up the win as they fell to the Minnesota Twins 5-3 Saturday.
The Twins held the Royals scoreless and carried a 3-0 lead into the eighth inning. The Royals would manage to tie the game in the eighth with three runs of their own but two runs in the tenth would see Minnesota reclaim the lead and pick up the win.
Alex Gordon, Humberto Arteaga and Cam Gallagher each scored one of the Royals three runs. Royals starter Danny Duffy pitched eight innings giving up six hits with three errors and four strikeouts.
The Royals and Twins will wrap up their four-game series Sunday. Pre-game beginning at 12:30 first pitch set for 1:15 on KVOE 1400 am and 96.9 fm.
