The Emporia School District has scheduled four town hall meetings as the district moves closer to a bond election this fall.
The town halls come before the bond election Sept. 5 and after the district spent the last 18 months researching facility needs for all school buildings.
The schedule:
*June 27, noon: Walnut Elementary library
*July 11, 6 pm: Emporia Middle School cafetorium
*July 23, 7:30 am: Trusler Business Center
*July 31, 6 pm: Emporia High School library
District officials have proposed a $78 million bond that would increase the levy by 3 mils, based on current projections. The bond would be repaid over the next 28 years.
