The Symphony in the Flint Hills signature event was canceled for this year due to severe weather threats and damaged equipment.
Two rounds of storms that struck Chase County on Saturday wreaked havoc on the site, causing damages to four of the main tents. Director of Engagement Gwen Obermeyer details the damages.
Unfortunately tickets to the signature event are non-refundable; however, Obermeyer says the organization is currently discussing ways to honor 2019 ticket holders and maintain consumer confidence for future events.
Next year’s signature event will be in Wabaunsee County. Further details will be announced later.
