Substantial work will begin soon on a major Emporia roadway.
The Prairie Street Overpass will be closed to traffic beginning Tuesday, June 25th for restoration and construction work. The project will include patchwork, replacing sagging approaches on both ends of the overpass, concrete work and the application of a polymerized coating.
According to Lyon County Engineer Chip Woods, the full scope of work could take up to three months to complete, weather permitting. KVOE and KVOE.com will have updates throughout the project’s progression.
